In IceHrm, leave groups can be used to give access to specific leave types to only a group of employee. Apart from that leave groups can be used to add leave rules for specific group of employees.
For example, Maternity Leave should usually be available only to female employees. Let us see how we can achieve this using leave groups.
First go to Manage -> Leave -> Leave Types and add a leave type called maternity leave as shown below:
Next, go to Leave Groups -> Edit Leave Groups and add a leave group with a suitable name.
Now go to Leave Groups -> Leave Group Employees and add all the employees that belong to the above leave group we created.
Lastly, go to Leave Types and add the leave group to the Maternity Leave Type.
Now only the employees that belong to the leave group will have access to this leave type.
