Who Can See What
Performance reviews contain sensitive input, so IceHrm is deliberate about who can see each part. Two rules matter most, and they often surprise people:
- Peer feedback is never shown to the employee being reviewed. Only the employee's manager (supervisor), the review coordinator, and admins can see peer feedback.
- The manager's reviewer feedback is hidden from the employee until the review is marked Completed. Before that, only the manager, coordinator, and admins can see it.

Why peer feedback stays private
Peer feedback is collected to help the manager form a rounded view of the employee's performance — it is input for the review, not a message to the employee. Colleagues can be candid because their feedback is never surfaced to the person being reviewed. This is why the Peer Feedback tab only appears for managers, coordinators, and admins, and why peer feedback is excluded from the review's PDF export as well.
Why reviewer feedback waits for "Completed"
The manager writes their overall assessment on the Reviewer Feedback tab while the review is still in progress. Keeping it hidden until the review is set to Completed means the manager can draft and refine it — and share the final message with the employee at the right moment, usually during the review conversation. The moment the status becomes Completed, the employee can see the reviewer feedback on their own copy of the review.
What the employee does see
On their own review (Reviews → Self Assessments → View), an employee sees:
- Their self-feedback answers.
- Their goals, with both the employee and manager progress ratings.
- The reviewer feedback — but only after the review is Completed.
They will not see a Peer Feedback tab at all.
