Overtime Setup

This guide explains how to configure the overtime module in IceHrm to enable employees to submit overtime requests.

Adding Overtime Categories

Before employees can request overtime, you need to set up overtime categories for your organization.

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Navigate to Manage -> Overtime -> Overtime Categories
  3. Click Add New to create a new category
  4. Configure the category settings (name, rate multiplier, etc.)
  5. Save the category

Common Overtime Categories

Organizations typically create categories such as:

  • Standard Overtime: Regular overtime beyond standard hours (1.5x rate)
  • Weekend Overtime: Work on Saturday or Sunday (2.0x rate)
  • Holiday Overtime: Work on public holidays (2.5x rate)
  • Night Shift Overtime: Overtime during night hours

Category Configuration

For each overtime category, you can configure:

  • Name: Descriptive name for the category
  • Rate Multiplier: Compensation rate (e.g., 1.5x, 2.0x)
  • Approval Required: Whether supervisor approval is needed
  • Eligibility: Which employees can use this category
