How Remote Employees Improve Business Productivity

  Reading Time:

Do you use current technologies to effectively manage your employees? If not, you should be. Technology can help you automate and streamline processes throughout your employees' lifecycle, from recruiting and training to compensation, benefits, retention, and exit. Not to mention other key HR areas such as communications, compliance, core employee information and more.

Today, all aspects of human resources are influenced by technology tools to further improve people's processes and skills. As an HR professional, you do well to keep abreast of technological trends that strongly influence the type of people who run your business. These trends will help you find, manage and attract the right people and further consolidate your competitive advantage in the industry.

Using the benefits of modern HR technologies (Human Resource Information System)had led us to increase the number of remote employees. So, this article is about how effective remote employees are for an organization.

With the emergence of new technologies that enable most people to work from their homes, more and more companies are starting to let their current employees work from home while hiring freelancers who live in different countries and even on different continents. Other companies also play with the idea of having some of their employees work from anywhere, knowing that remote workers can actually increase the overall productivity of the company.

While other companies still have doubts about whether recruiting remote employees is a good idea or not, here are some points on how remote employees can increase a company's productivity.

Remote employees always make an extra effort

Working remotely doesn't mean staying home in your pajamas, doing absolutely nothing and receiving a paycheck at the end of each month. In effect, telecommuters are more productive than their colleagues working from the office. Why is that? Because they love the flexibility of the kitchen and are willing not only to do their job on time but also to go the other way because they want to "prove" that the company they work for has made the right decision in hiring them.

They are also determined to do whatever it takes to achieve great results at the end of the day. Unlike most of their colleagues in the office, who are paid most of the time just to show off at work, remote workers do their job no matter how long they need to do it.

According to a survey by Inc. magazine, 79% of employees prefer to work at home, full-time or part-time. The survey also revealed that 53% of distance workers are willing to work more than 40 hours per week, while only 28% of workers not working in the telecommunications sector are willing to work more than 40 hours per week.

There will be less sick leaves

Blockages and food poisoning make entering the office uncomfortable, but working from home? Not so bad. Slightly ill employees can still work most of the time when it comes to not having to go to the office. Another bonus? Without sharing diseases.

Time & Cost saving for employees and employers

An employee at work does not necessarily mean that the employee is productive. Many companies and managers confuse "worker" employees with those who actually do the work. If you look closely, in most cases these types of employees only make one presentation and wait for the time when they can be "free" from work that day.

Many studies have shown that freelancers and remote workers do more work in one day than the entire office team. In addition, they don't have to spend time traveling to and from work, so they can use that time to concentrate on their daily tasks.

Everybody seems to be talking about work-life equilibrium. It seems that you do not allow a better way to work at home to improve your work-life balance. So that employees will be happier than working at an office. They will be more productive when they are happy. A Stanford study found that employees working from home are 13 percent more productive than their counterparts in the office.

More work instead of more gossip

Remote workers are also less distracted when they work in a quiet place where people don't talk all the time and bother them most of the time. For most employees, the workplace offers them the opportunity to meet with colleagues, discuss different topics, celebrate a birthday or something special, etc. All of these things take a lot of time, so employees have fewer hours to do their job.

According to a CareerBuilder study, 39% of employees say gossip is one of the most important distractions at work. Meetings and noisy employees are also on the list, with 24% and 20% respectively.

Remote workers, on the other hand, can be distracted between tasks or watch a TV series if they wish, as long as they do the job correctly. Thanks to their flexibility, they also feel less stressed and more inspired to do the work from the place of their choice.

You do not have to pay for office supplies

There are so many office supplies that are needed to work in an office, moreover, they have to waste so much money to order bulk orders for office supplies. By working from house to work, you can cut off these useless expenses.

Less time and money invested in finding the best talent
