Understanding The Leave Lock Period in IceHrm
The "Leave: Lock Period After Joined Date" feature in IceHrm helps organizations specify a waiting period, expressed in months, that employees must adhere to before applying for their first leave request. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of setting up the Leave Lock Period.
Suppose an organization wants the employees to wait for 6 months after the joined date in order to submit their first leave. Let us see how this can be implemented in IceHrm.
First login to IceHrm as an admin and go to System -> Settings -> Leave.
Now, search for the Leave: Lock Period After Joined Date setting. The default value of this setting will be 0 as shown below.
Click on edit to change the value from 0 to 6 as shown below:
Once the value is changed, click on save.
Let us now try to submit a leave request as an employee who joined the organization less than 6 months ago.
An employee's joined date can be viewed by going to the Employees module.
As you can see in the above screenshot, IceHrm will not allow employees to submit a leave request until the employee completes 6 months in the organisation.
