Using Overtime Data In Payroll

You might need overtime data for your payroll calculations. With IceHrm, you can easily get overtime data using predefined calculations feature in payroll.

In IceHrm, there are two ways of recording overtime hours.

First Method

The first method is to get overtime hours using attendance records. Suppose an employee starts working at 09.00 am and ends the day at 20.00 pm. The employee has worked for 11 hours instead of the usual 8 hours. So the overtime is 3 hours.

If you want to get overtime hours from attendance records, your payroll column settings should look like this:

Once you create a payroll report with all your payroll columns, including the overtime payroll column, your payroll report will look like this:

Second Method

The second method is to get overtime hours with from approved overtime requests. Employees will have to go to time Time Management -> overtime requests and add an overtime request. Before an employee can add overtime requests, the admin will have to set up the overtime module by going to Manage -> Overtime.

Suppose an employee works from 9.00 am to 18.00 pm. If we consider that the normal working hours is 8 hours, the employee should have stopped working at 17.00 pm. But the employee has worked one hour extra from 17.00 pm to 18.00 pm. Now the employee can apply for an overtime request as shown below.

Please note that in order to get overtime data from overtime requests, the overtime requests should be approved.
