During this period, the employee receives 100% of his average salary for the last 3 months and social security is responsible for this remuneration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Parental Leave<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Employees are entitled to up to 36 months of parental leave. Both parents can decide how to divide the leave that should be taken after paternity and maternity leave. Both parents can take parental leave. The vacation is unpaid<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Parents with two or more children under the age of 14 are legally entitled to at least four additional calendar days of paid vacation per year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Paid vacation in special cases:<\/strong><br>1. Newlyweds &#8211; 3 days, starting from the date of registration of the marriage.<br>2. In the event of the death of parents, in-laws or children &#8211; 3 days.<br>3. In the death of second degree relatives &#8211; 1 day.<br>4. Parents (both mother and father) with children in grades 1 and 2 &#8211; 1 day at the beginning of the school year and 1 day at the end of the school year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Pay &amp; Tax<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Minimum Wage Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The minimum wage for workers in Moldova is 5,000 MDL\/month for full-time employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Individual Income Tax<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In Moldova, employees are taxed at a flat rate of 12%<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Payroll Cost<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The cost to the employer is generally estimated at 24% of the employee&#8217;s wages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Social Security &#8211; 24.0%  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One-time mandatory processing fee for wet ink employment contract &#8211; USD 80<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overtime Pay &amp; Maximum Hours<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The standard working hours are 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week. The normal working week lasts from Monday to Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pay for overtime is mandatory. Hours outside of standard working hours are considered overtime. Employees can work a maximum of 2 hours of overtime. Employees receive compensation for additional hours:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>150% of the hourly rate for the first 2 hours per week.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>200% of the hourly rate for the following hours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Termination<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Termination Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Terminations in Moldova can be complicated. In Moldova, employers cannot terminate at will outside of the probationary period, and the termination must be for a valid reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Compliant terminations are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Voluntary by the employee  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By mutual agreement  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unilaterally by the employer due to:      <br>1. Probationary period      <br>2. Objective reasons      <br>3. Disciplinary dismissal      <br>4. Performance due to unsuitability for the position  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When the contract expires<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Notice Period<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The minimum notice period is 30 days and increases depending on the type of termination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>30 days if termination is due to repeated non-performance <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>60 days if the termination is due to a reduction in headcount<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Severance for Employees<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In Moldova, all employees who are dismissed without cause are entitled to severance pay. The severance payment is 1 week of salary per year of service up to 6 months of basic salary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to protect you from unforeseen financial risks arising from the termination of the employment relationship, IceHrm applies a severance pay provision in all employment contracts in this country. If your employee resigns or is not entitled to severance pay, you will receive a refund of any unused amounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Statutory Time Off<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Paid Time Off<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Both full-time and part-time employees are entitled to 21 days of paid time off (PTO) per year. PTO accrues monthly at 1.75 days per month.
