Both parents can decide how to divide the leave, which should be 8 weeks after paternity and maternity leave. Both parents can take parental leave. During this period, Social Security pays 67% of salary for the first 180 days and then 50% for the remaining days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parental leave can be extended up to 2 years, with 50% of salary paid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sick Leave<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Employees have no legal right to sick leave and it is at the sole discretion of the employer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IceHrm employees are entitled to 3 days of paid sick leave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Pay &amp; Tax<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Minimum Wage Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In Japan, the minimum wage is very complex. The minimum hourly wage is set depending on the employee&#8217;s region and can vary between \u00a5714 and \u00a51023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Individual Income Tax<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Individual income tax ranges from 5% to 45%. Income tax is calculated at progressive rates. Please note that Social Security also sets maximum amounts for these contributions, so the percentages may vary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overtime Pay &amp; Maximum Hours<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The standard working hours are 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week. The normal working week lasts from Monday to Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overtime pay is only mandatory if the employee is not an exempt manager. In this case, overtime pay cannot be offset against salary. Hours worked outside of normal working hours are considered overtime. Off-boarding is always carried out by the employer with the main participants.
