How to Create a User Data Importer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Using IceHrm<\/a> latest features now you can automate the process of creating users. You can do this by creating a data importer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Login as Admin and Navigate to System -> Data Importers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Create a new Data Importer named “User Data Importer<\/strong>” and Data Type should be “UserDataImporter<\/strong>“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each importer should have one ID column. <\/em>For this one ID column should be UserName. Here is how you can add this unique id column.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click on the Add<\/strong> button in front of the Columns<\/strong> option. You need to add a column to each of these fields in order to create a user account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. User Name<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Email<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. User Level<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Employee<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Let’s start with the first column, User Name<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Note that the value “is ID field<\/strong>” is Yes<\/strong>. Sample Value<\/strong> should be a value shown in the sample download. For this column, you can set the sample value as user1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Under the Help Text<\/strong> enter a small description about the column.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Second Column is Email<\/strong> column.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Note that the value “is ID field<\/strong>” is No<\/strong>. Sample Value<\/strong> can be a example email address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Third column is User Level<\/strong> column.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Note that the value “is ID field<\/strong>” is No<\/strong>. Sample Value<\/strong> can be one of the User Levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Fourth Column is the name of the Employee<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Note the Type<\/strong> of the column should be Reference<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Then Select Employee<\/strong> to the Depends On<\/strong> option and employee_id<\/strong> as the Depends on Field<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    When you create your csv file, under the employee column, you need to enter the employee_id data so the IceHrm find the matching employee and update the user.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Now you can create the CSV file to import User Data. In the CSV file, there should be four columns defined for username, email, user_level and employee<\/strong>. As mentioned above the employee column should hold the employee_id of each employee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
